Before committing to plate, the customer needs to see what the tonal effect will be as it has a major impact on the finished product. We needed to improve the quality of our proof offering. 4 2010-09-02 11:19:00.0 20100902 Tim Sheahan 3147 TH-Tim-Sheahan.gif The N4 machine replaces a previous Agfa Palladio CTP system at the Seven Sisters-based company, which has recently moved to chemistry-free plate output.<br /><br />The 22-staff business is using the Avalon machine to produce Agfa Azura TS plates for its Komori and Heidelberg B2 press set-up.<br /><br />Fraser Hamilton, which has become ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 accredited in the past 18 months, has linked the new system to its Agfa Apogee workflow.<br /><br />According to managing director John Chandler, the addition of the Avalon machine has enabled the &pound;2m-turnover company to improve plate image quality while reducing chemical usage.<br /><br />"It is simple to use as well as clean and easy to maintain. The quality of the Azura plates is also fantastic," he added.<br /><br />The litho and digital print company produces boasts a wide range of clients, including financial firms, the NHS, local government and universities.
